Representing The London Chapter are
Dr Stephen Handelsman (far right) and Dr John Wolffe (drivers seat).
In a moving ceremony at the Jerusalem headquarters of Magen David Adom the ambulance
donated by the London Chapter and Charitable Trust was dedicated on 16 September 2003.
The ambulance, which is stationed in Tiberias, was brought to Jerusalem for the ceremony.
The group was welcomed by the Station Head, Yoni Yagodovsky and MDA's International Director Haim Dagan.
Yoni explained the way MDA works and is funded in Israel and Haim Dagan gave an overview of
the relationship between MDA and the International Red Cross. Haim also explained that MDA had enormous
day-to-day running expenses and were now asking donors to continue their commitment by sponsoring
the annual cost of keeping an ambulance on the road.
International President Arnold Feldman handed over the keys of the ambulance to the driver in the presence
of Stephen Handelsman, the new London Charitable Trust Secretary, and International Secretary John Wolffe
and his wife Linda. Mark Margolin, Zurich Chapter President, and his wife Susi were also present at the dedication.
