As Alpha Omega enters another year, most dentists are experiencing the harsh
economic climate. It is in these times when we may not be as busy as we'd like to be
that we can use our time to develop our clinical skills and catch up on the latest
techniques and materials available with like minded colleagues. Alpha Omega offers its
members a unique opportunity to keep up to date in a social and informal environment.
Our speakers this year will cover a broad range of topics relevant to our day to day
clinical practice. I have asked the speakers to focus on practical aspects that can help
us improve our dentistry.
The highlight of our year will be the Annenberg Lecture and we are indeed privileged to
have for our lecture Dr Sillas Duarte from the University of Southern California, USA.
He is a world renowned expert on composite and bonding agents with a unique
background in clinical skills and academic dentistry. The day will cover all you ever
wanted to know about creating conservative and aesthetic composite restorations. It will
demystify the selection of materials and discuss the latest materials and techniques.
The year would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and I'd like to
thank them for their support and encourage you all to support them. Henry Schein
Minerva are our main sponsors and have created a unique and unbeatable benefits
scheme for AO members who purchase supplies and equipment from them. Please
look into this benefits scheme and sign up for it to save on your yearly purchases.
Finally I'd like to thank last year's president Dr Morris Fine and his committee who
gave us a wonderful programme last year and have helped keep Alpha Omega at the
forefront of dental societies.
Have a wonderful year,

Regards Basil Mizrahi
